RULES AND REGULATIONS
*Disclaimer- Every possible opportunity will be taken to assure that your photos are handled with the utmost care. However, we cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur from judging, transporting, or displaying your works of art.
2017 Tate County Fair … 3 Fair Cooking Contests
Wednesday, May 31
“Anything Bacon” contest. Entry must be turned in by 6:00 P.M. at the Cooking Contest Tent. Be creative. Make any dish from BLT to Bacon ice cream as long as bacon is the star ingredient. Turn in the empty bacon package and a typed copy of your recipe. There must be enough of your entry for six judges to sample Have entry in disposable container. Winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Event Tent.
“Cornbread Extravaganza” contest. Entry must be turned in by 6:00 p.m. at the Cooking Contest Tent. Be creative. Make any dish from appetizer to dessert as long as it has cornbread in it. Turn in empty package of product used, and a typed copy your recipe. Have enough of the dish for six judges to sample. Have entry in disposable container. Winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Event Tent.
Friday, June 2 – No cooking contest.
“King Arthur Flour Cake” contest. Entry must be turned in by 10:00 a.m. at the Cooking Contest Tent. Use any recipe you choose as long as you use King Arthur Flour. Be creative. Turn in empty KA flour sack and your typed recipe. The winners will be announced at Noon in the Main Event Tent.
Cooking Contest Rules:
Contests open to ages 12 to 100
Contests are “blind Judge” contests… judges will not know who made which dish.
Remember to turn in empty package of main ingredient (bacon, cornmeal, KA flour)
A typed copy of your recipe must accompany your entry.
Each entry MUST be turned in to the Contest Tent by specified time and no late entries will be accepted.
Judging will be based on appearance, creativity, texture and taste
First place wins blue ribbon, second place wins red ribbon and third place wins white or yellow ribbon
There will also be prizes for each winner.
Winners will announced in the Main Event Tent at the time specified.
